Blog # 2 Taylor Strand

By jyomagani at 6:04 PM

Taylor Strand a 14 year old from Sauk Rapids, Minnesota was in a fire pit accident. She has third degree burns covering 70% percent of her body. She was in the Cincinnati hospital for eight months and came home to surprise her friend on her 15th birthday. She says her personality is the same but only her face, body and hair are different. She also says that therapy and dressing changes are the most painful part. She had 17 surgeries but only had one wish and that was to come home for Christmas. They even have "Pray for Tay" bracelets to support Taylor. They are only 5 dollars plus a dollar of shipping charges.

Blog #1 Kentucky Snow Storm Power Outage!!

By jyomagani at 8:03 PM

My natural Disaster Blog is about the winter storm in Kentucky that lead to a more than half million power outages for 3 days. They didn’t have fresh water either. There were shelters all over the state. There were at least 21 deaths confirmed after the storm hit. This storm took place from Texas to Kentucky. The governor called 4,600 National Guard troops Saturday to deliver water, food and other supplies. They have to go door to door and cover 190 counties. After a few days the electricity was back for a few counties but less than a quarter million still don’t have any power. But on the bright side next weeks temperature is above forty which is still cold but some snow melting should be nice. Let’s just hope that these strong winds and ice storms don’t make their way up north. Schools and Universities have been cancelled for more than 3 days.Whippe 3 whole snow days!!
